Welcome to the Calne Community Area Partnership (CCAP) web site

Calne Community Area Partnership (CCAP) represents the community of Calne and nearby parishes including Calne Without, Heddington, Cherhill, Compton Bassett, Hilmarton and Bremhill. The group comprises representatives from residents, councils, public services, local businesses and community groups.

CCAP is an open apolitical forum for community planning and involvement. With the promotion of community engagement as a core activity the CCAP draws from the widest possible range of partners and individuals within the given community area to identify key issues, seek solutions and the most appropriate means of delivering them.

CCAP was formed as a result of the desire of Wiltshire Council to ensure that local Calne people were fully involved in the decisions that affect them.

The role of CCAP is to consult the needs of the community, publish them in a regularly updated Community Plan, and champion them with the local authority and other service providers.

CCAP also delivers improvements itself through action teams, or 'Themed Groups'. There are CCAP Theme Groups for the Economy, Education & Lifelong Learning, Crime & Community Safety, Environment- Land-based & Countryside, Transport, Social Care & Health, Housing & the Built Environment, and Culture including Leisure, Recreation & the Arts.
